The History Of The School

Falomo High School was founded in September 1981 bythe then governor of Lagos State,Alhaji Lateef Jakande. It was then known as Ireti Grammar School(School Two),Ikoyi with only a few students at its inception.Later the name of the school was changed to Ikoyi High Schoolin 1982.
The school occupied one of the buildings originally owned by Ireti Girls Primary School,Ikoyi.

As the number of the students'population increased, there was a need for more classrooms. Both the state government and the Rotary Club of Falomo provided the needed buildings which the school is presently sharing with three other schools.

At inception Mrs. A.M. Amene was appointed the first ever principal of the school and she started work with just six teachers.

Master Adeleke Adisa was appointed as the first Head Boy of the school while Miss Monica O. Amen was the first Head Girl.
The school presented the first set of students for theWAEC which result was impresive and encouraging indeed.

Falomo Senior High School was created in 2003 out of theold school due to the policy of the Lagos State government to separate the junior and senior schools inits effort to fulfil the idea of the Universal Basic Education.

Mr. R.L.Akande became the first principal of the Seniorschool while Mrs. Odunusi was made the principal of theJunior School.Mr.Akande guarded the ship of the schoolup until the 2006 when Mrs. C.A.Adeboye,formerly ofGovernment Senior College,Maroko, was brought to relieve him while he got transferred to GovernmentJunior College,Maroko.
