- Attend your classes. Remember in
the words of Woody Allen 'Seventy percent of success in life is
showing up'.
- Know your faculty. Make sure you
know who your teachers are, when their office hours are and how to
contact them.
- Make sure the faculty knows you.
Sit in the front of the classroom. Participate in class
discussions. Consult with your teachers during office hours.
- Use a daily planner. Note the
dates of exams, assignments, term papers, etc.
- Be organized. Prioritize your
responsibilities. Manage your time. Remember everyone has the same
168 hours a week, only some of us use them better than
others.
- Know your campus resources. Visit
your Academic's Dean Office regularly. Become familiar with the
services and programs offered by the Counseling Center, The
Freshmen Center, the Career Center, the Campus Ministry Office and
the Student Life Office.
- Take care of you health. Get
enough sleep. Eat well-balanced meals. Exercise regularly. Make
informed and mature decisions about alcohol, sex and drugs. Visit
the Health Office as needed.
- Work only as necessary. Try not
the exceed 20 hours during a school week. If possible, work on
campus. Apply for financial aid and loans if you need them. Manage
your expenses very carefully.
- Get involved in campus activities.
It will help you learn valuable skills, expand your social network
and enhance your self-confidence. Seek out opportunities to apply
what you learn in the classroom.

Muslim Students Society Members Won Prizes
Members of the school's Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria (M.S.S.N.) attended the M.S.S. Day 2013 of Victoria Island Senior Secondary School and won prizes.

Sahara Group Representatives Come To Give Career Talks
Sahara Group, an oil exploration company, sponsored a Career Talk Lecture in the school.
The Career Talk, which was part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (SRP) for the year, was held at the school multipurpose hall on March 19, 2013.
The Talk was meant for only the SSS 3 Students who are preparing for their future as they are on their
way out of the school after three years of academic training.
Mrs. Olajumoke Ajayi, the company's Exploration Manager, led the group of experts to the school.
The experts included Mr. Abiodun Awoyemi who had once carried out a weekly lecture series with the students during his period as an NYSC member.
At the lecture, Mrs. Ajayi promised to give any child who is able to make 8 'A'/ 'B' a personal gift.

2013 Annual CBN Junior Tennis Championship : Seun Olatunde Came Second Overall

Seun Olatunde, a student of Falomo Senior High School, has won the second position in the 2013 CBN Junior Tennis Championship.
CBN Junior Tennis Championship is an annual tournament which is sponsored by the Central Bank of Nigeria.It has been on for well over 15 years,if not more.
Seun, who is an SSS 1B student, is a sponsored athlete from the fold of Chevron Oil Company who maintain is sporting interest with a monthly 5,000 naira stipend.
Seun narrowly lost in the final match to a "better and well equipped player", so he told this forum.
Showing his winning prizes, which included a personal framed photograph as well as a pair of tennis shoes, to the Principal, Mrs. C.A.Adeboye, Seun promised to do better than what he had done in this year's tournament in the next edition in 2014 when he would have gained promotion to SSS2 and acquired more knowledge of the game.
The school is proud of Seun Olatunde who has joined some other prominent students to put the name of the school in the map of sporting activities in Lagos and Nigeria.
We say a big congratulations to our worthy HERO - SEUN OLATUNDE,the TENNIS GENIUS.Keep on serving.

Mr. Victor Igbinosa Wins The 2012 Best Teacher Award
The Best teacher award for 2012 was won by Mr. Victor Omorege Igbinosa, the economics teacher in the school.
Nobody was surprised when the Principal, Mrs. C.A..Adeboye made the announcement at the 2012 End of the Year Party.
Mr. Igbinosa is known not only for his hard work.He is always the first teacher to get to the school and he will do his work without being calked upon to do so.
Mr. Igbinosa, apart from his teaching duty, is the teacher in charge of the Young Farmers' Club and the Junior Achievement.

The 2012 end-of-the-year party was held on 19th December, 2012.The event was witnessed by all teachers in the school as well as the student-teachers who came to the school from the University of |Lagos,Akoka.The NYSC member in the school, Miss Mary Ojobo, was present too.
At the occasion, Mrs.Omotunde Ogunnaike, who did her N.Y.S.C. in the school during the 2010/11 session was given a befitting send-forth gift to thank her for the contributions she made to the school during the period of her stay with us.

At the 2012 Miss Insurance Essay Competition Falomo Senior High School's representative, Miss Rhoda Irhirhi came the overall second among all the schools in Lagos State.
For coming second , she was rewarded with a mini laptop and the school was presented with a white board and printer to go with.
